Weathering steel, namely atmospheric corrosion resistant steel, is a low alloy steel series between ordinary steel and stainless steel. Weathering steel is made of general carbon steel with a small amount of copper, nickel and other corrosion resistant elements. It has the characteristics of high quality steel, toughness, plastic extension, forming, welding and cutting, abrasion, high temperature, fatigue resistance and so on. Weather resistance is 2~8 times that of common carbon steel, coating ability is 1.5~10 times that of common carbon steel. At the same time, it has the characteristics of rust resistance, corrosion resistance, life extension, thinning, energy saving and so on. Weathering steel is mainly used in railway, vehicle, bridge, tower, photovoltaic, high-speed engineering and other long-term exposure to the atmosphere of the use of steel structures. Used for manufacturing containers, railway vehicles, oil derricks, seaport buildings, oil platforms and chemical and petroleum equipment containing hydrogen sulfide corrosive medium containers and other structural parts.
